Flushing Holiday Cottages in Cornwall

We have a selection of lovely self catering holiday cottages in & around Flushing Cornwall.

Flushing, which is opposite to Falmouth has a completely different feel about it. This is probably due to the fact that the first settlers here came from Vlissingen (Flushing) in Holland and were responsible for building the three main quays in the village. They built most of their striking houses in the Queen Anne style with shipbuilding and repairing being key trade of the village for hundreds of years. In the 19th & 20th centuries the village relied mainly on fishing, the two farms and former manors of  Trefusis and Tregew as well as Falmouth Docks.

Due to its position Flushing is said to be one of the warmest places in the United Kingdom. The beach at Kiln is extremely popular with tourists and has wonderful views of the Falmouth Docks and Carrick Roads. Every year during late July or early August Flushing Regatta Week is held offering plenty of water based activities such as bathtub racing, swimming, rowing, and sailing. This has grown immensely popular over the years.
