Gribbas Cottage

Sleeps up to 2
Location: Stithians
A delightful one bedroom cottage in the little village of Stithians. With thick granite stone walls and heavily beamed ceilings, this is a really proper little Cornish cottage. Ideally placed for exploring the Lizard, yet close to Falmouth and the north Helford area and within easy reach of the north coast. Great cycling can be had nearby on the Bissoe Trail, the old mining tramway that runs from south to north coasts.

Stithians Holiday Cottages in Cornwall.

We have a selection of lovely self catering holiday cottages in & around Stithians Cornwall.

Stithians lies in a triangle surrounded by Redruth, Helston and Falmouth. The area is mainly agricultural. The River Kennall running through the village of Stithians played an important part in the industry of the time and was used to work a flour mill, some gunpowder mills, paper mill and machinery at a foundry. Every year in July is the Stithians Show. It is one of the largest one-day agricultural shows of its kind with visitor numbers exceeding 20,000. Until 1992 it was held in the centre of the village but has since moved to Kennall Farm. It has run every year since its conception in 1834 except for 3 years during WWI, 5 years in WWII and 2001 when there was an outbreak of foot and mouth disease. Music has always played a part in Stithians history, with the St Stithians Male Voice Choir performing at concerts throughout Cornwall and the St Sthithians Band performing successfully in concerts in the 60's and 70's. To the west is Stithians Reservoir, 300 acres of water created when a dam was built here in 1964. The reservoir is a well known spot for birdwatching and other water sport activities such as sailing and windsurfing.
