The Lizard is an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' and has some spectacular coastal walks. It is England's most southerly point and the highlights include early Spring flowers, the Lizard lighthouse, swimming and surfing from sandy beaches, delightful fishing coves, sailing on the Helford river, heather covered moors in Autumn, open gardens and National Trust areas, pretty harbour lights at Christmas, friendly pubs and good, fresh, local food!

Richard from Christchurch stayed at Coverack Cottage for 6 nights in June
Coverack cottage is in a courtyard with six other cottages, access across a cattle grid with plenty of parking. The accommodation is very adequate, Lounge/Kitchen two good size bedrooms plus toilet/bathroom. It is furnished very well and has everything you could possibly want for you stay. A stable type front door onto a small porch area with a small front garden containing a garden table and chairs, altogether a very nicely presented cottage at a very reasonable price. The only concern is perhaps the drive from the nearest village St Keverne which is along some very narrow single track lanes. We had a very good week, and Coverack cottage gave us a good base to return to after our trips out to many local places.

Jamie from Bristol stayed at Coverack Cottage for 4 nights in June
As a couple with a two year old the cottage was great for what we wanted. A garden for my daughter to play in and the interior was actually bigger than I thought it would be. My only minor complaint is that there wasn't any sort of welcome pack in the cottage just saying how the heating worked, where the communal garden is etc. It wasn't really an issue as you can work most of these things out but it might be useful in future to have a bit of information like you get in most holiday cottages. Overall a very nice place at a good price in a good location.

Tom from Bath stayed at Coverack Cottage for 7 nights in October
Exactly what I needed...quiet, away from busy towns, near the coast for walking every day. The cottage was excellent, had everything I needed, very cosy, warm and comfortable. Great to watch the birds in the garden: wren, robin, great tits, goldfinch, and a chilled out pheasant wandering around...the locals were all welcoming and friendly, and enjoyed driving the narrow lanes! Looking forward to coming back. My only very very minor quibble is the bath taps didn't really work...but I'm sure that can be fixed easily (I'm guessing people staying in the summer wouldn't need that facility, but I was here in November haha!).

David from Sutton Coldfield stayed at Coverack Cottage for 5 nights in September
Although the paperwork provided was pretty good for the location, we still missed it as the entrance is quite small ! When I booked the property I did not realise it was " dog friendly ". The main reason for my choice was that our friend that accompanied us, is disabled and being on a single level after entering the property would be a massive advantage to her. The smell of dogs was apparent but not overpowering. We rigourously cleaned the house on leaving and it seemed to do the job well. A very comfortable place to stay but be careful on exiting the gate. It can get a little hair raising if you have any !!!!! The pub in St Keverne was excellent for both food and drinks. The landlord and lady also very accomodating. A reasonable drive to Porthleven will take you to a " Rick Stein " restaurant. For a very reasonable price you can enjoy some great food and drink. Not to be missed.

Kimberley from Saltash stayed at Coverack Cottage for 7 nights in July
We had a wonderful time at coverack cottage. We arrived to a spotless cottage, fresh towels and bedding and fresh milk in the fridge. Felt like walking into a home. Despite a leaky roof when it rained for a couple times,it didn't spoil our time. Would recommend this cottage and this part of Cornwall to anyone

A beautiful cottage in a small hamlet near St Keverne. Quiet apart from a few tractors. Very cosy inside with small kitchen but good facilities. We loved it and would happily book the cottage again.

We found the cottage comfortable and peaceful, ideal for our short break. It was well situated for getting to different places around the coast, and although it was a few miles to the nearest shop, that wasn't a problem as the shop stays open late.

Guest from Bexleyheath stayed at Coverack Cottage for 7 nights in August
We stayed at coverack cottage August 23rd to 30th 2014. The cottage is in a quiet area it is very well equipped, has everything you need taking into consideration your on holiday and will not be cooking elaborate meals. Everything was clean and when we arrived there was fresh flowers on the table and the biscuits were a nice touch, it was also nice to find tea, coffee, and sugar and milk, and able to have a cup of tea after a long journey. The area of the cottage is nice but if you want to walk to the local pub or shops then this is not for you. It is a car journey from every where, the nearest village is St Keverne which is lovely we stayed there last year having said that if you don't mind driving and want peace and quiet this is an ideal place.I would definitely recommend it.

Ideal cottage if you want to be out of the way and quiet evenings. Too far to walk on dark narrow roads to local villages with shops & pubs at night.
Reply from VeronicaThank you for your review about Coverack Cottage. There's a good taxi service to take you to the local shops and pubs if you do not wish to drive.

Guest from Bridgwater stayed at Coverack Cottage for 7 nights in June
We were looking for somewhere that we could take the dog and be able to walk. Coverack Cottage was ideal on all counts for us. It was a great base for walking, we managed to do the coastal path in stages from the cottage from Helford down to the Lizard and three days on the way back just happened to pass Roskillys! It was a real bonus to have bedding and towels already on our arrival plus a pint of milk and no meters to feed. All our needs were catered for and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. We will be looking for somewhere similar next year further down the coast to continue on the path.

Guest from Salisbury stayed at Coverack Cottage for 5 nights in May
We enjoyed our stay in this tranquil cottage. It was spotlessly clean. As we were the first guests of the year it was very chilly on arrival, but once the storage heaters had got going it warmed up satisfactorily. We appreciated a lovely bunch of flowers and basic ingredients for hot drinks We did find the location of the cottage to be rather out in the wilds and a couple of miles from shops and pubs etc. We had foolishly thought that Coverack Cottage was in Coverack! ---Our mistake. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen area adequately equipped. Our only comment would be that the lighting system made reading quite difficult in the evening, both in the living room and in bed. Stronger bulbs would enhance the visit for elderly folk such as us. The wild flowers all around and the bluebell woods were just breathtaking and we would strongly recommend May as a beautiful month to visit The Lizard.
Reply from Veronica AkpinarI welcome your comments and i have subsequently provided a bright, adjustable reading lamp and fitted stronger light bulbs throughout the cottage.
