It is also close to Mullion Cove with its dramatic cliffs and beautiful turquoise waters. The wonderful sands of Poldhu Cove are just a few minutes' drive away. This is brilliant countryside for walking. The coastal footpath is nearby and the Lizard Peninsula offers some of the best and quietest sections of the path in the county.

The Lizard is an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' and has some spectacular coastal walks. It is England's most southerly point and the highlights include early Spring flowers, the Lizard lighthouse, swimming and surfing from sandy beaches, delightful fishing coves, sailing on the Helford river, heather covered moors in Autumn, open gardens and National Trust areas, pretty harbour lights at Christmas, friendly pubs and good, fresh, local food! There are loads of places to visit and highlights include Lizard Point, walks along the coastal path, a visit to Trelowarren Estate, the fascinating Goonhilly Earth Station, Flambards is great for the kids and you can step into Cornwall's mining heritage at the Poldark Mine.

There are so many activities to choose from locally. You can take a boat trip across the beautiful Helford River and explore the gardens at Trebah. There are sea fishing trips from Porthleven. There is great diving on the Manacles and coasteering is available for the really adventurous. The Lizard is home to the Cornish Chough if you like a spot of bird-watching. The coastline has many pretty coves and beaches to discover, but you can find great surf at Porthleven or Loe Bar.

The harbour town of Falmouth is a must visit with it's restaurants, National Maritime Museum Cornwall and spectacular Pendennis Castle.

I've never stayed in a holiday rental property where the owners live Nextdoor and I have to say that it makes all the difference. Lawrence and Becky are super friendly and helpful and because they are on site, it would be easy to get any issues sorted (we had none) or queries answered. Lana's Lodge is very well equipped with everything you could need to make your stay comfortable - it's spacious, lots of storage areas for your belongings, sinks in both bedrooms, two bathrooms, an enclosed garden (great with a dog!). It's easy to find in Mullion, which is a great base location for exploring the south west of Cornwall. Also Mullion itself has a couple of pubs (one dog friendly, one not), a mini market, a post office, chip shop and Indian takeaway plus you can walk to the beach at Mullion Cove (dog friendly), Polurrian or Poldhu (seasonal dog bans). Would definitely recommend this accommodation and location!

The welcome pack of cream teas was wonderful. The owners, Lawrence and Becky, were so friendly and acommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. The cottage was very spacious and suited our needs to a tee. The position of the cottage was ideal for exploring the areas around Mullion. The cottage was ideal for us as it is bungalow style, all on the ground floor. I would recommend this holiday cottage to anyone interested in exploring the Lizard, or going swimming or surfing on the nearby beaches. Denis and Angie Leicester

Alan from Merseyside stayed at Lana's Lodge for 14 nights in June
We chose this property maily so our dogs had a secure garden to play in. The owners of the property where realy nice as was the accommodation. It was very spacious and the location was ideal for us to walk and exercise the dogs. We found the locals to be very friendly mullion itself had all of the basics available and a few miles away in Helston there was a good shopping centre. All of the mounts bay tourist attractions where within a 30-40 minutes drive and a little further away are Newquay,StIves,Truro,Falmouth and a huge choice of beaches ogether with a choice of childrens theme parks and of course the eden centre, national trust, english heritage properties you are soilt for choice whatever the weather. We found the booking process realy good. Cornwalls cottages staff where very helpful and we where sent discount vouchers and information on line to let us know about events that would be happening during our stay. All in all a very nice holiday all round l would certainly recommend this property and the booking agent to our family and friends. Finally a quick mention to recommend the hazelphron inn in Gunwalloe the food is excellent.

Jenny from Petersfield stayed at Lana's Lodge for 5 nights in April
Lana's Lodge is ideally situated in Mullion with an excellent dog friendly pub (the Old Inn). The owners greeted us and provided a very welcome cream tea. The lodge itself is very cosy and comfortable, especially the giant double bed! The small back garden is secure for the dogs to run about in. The kitchen is well equipped although a new frying pan might be in order. Extra electric radiators were on hand to supplement the central heating so we were never cold in the cottage. The only downside is that the front door opens onto the driveway and there are no gates to stop dogs (or children) running onto the road. No problem for us as it was so cold outside we kept the door firmly shut! The coastal path is easily accessible and walking in the Lizard peninsula was lovely.

This was our second stay at Lana's lodge and we weren't disappointed on our return, from the beautiful location to the warm welcome we received on arrival. We sadly arrived on a flat bed wagon as our car died on the way down but with our shopping prebooked for delivery and three beautiful bays within walking distance our holiday was still enjoyable even though we were carless! I wouldn't hesitate to book again, such a beautiful part of the country and a lovely holiday let, I love how every little detail is thought of by such kind and thoughtful owners. Thank you x

Had a great time at Lana's Lodge. We all thoroughly loved the place and were left to get on and enjoy everything. Wifi and Sky movies a welcome bonus on a rainy day. Lovely big rooms and everything in great nick and well cared for. Scones on arrival were lovely. Only slight downside was faint musty smell - seems the owners are aware and try to mask with pongy things in the cupboard but guess only solution is knock down and rebuild - not cheap ! Thanks for a lovely stay.

If you want a comfortable, relaxed and truly enjoyable break, visit 'Lana's Lodge' Mullion. Greeted with a vase of garden flowers, Cream Teas for us and doggy scones, made especially for our Daucshound, we could not believe the generosity afforded us with a 50th Anniversary card and basket of goodies in celebration. The lodge was so well presented, everything you could imagine was placed for your use. The owners are so friendly and helpful but never intruded unless invited to converse. Mullion itself has useful shops with friendly assistants, good meals at Mounts Bay Inn and fantastic fish and chip shop! Close to beautiful beaches, 'Lana's Lodge' is perfectly situated. We would not hesitate to recommend 'Lana's Lodge', we rate it 5 star which includes the lovely family who own it! Heather and Tony Hill, Bath Somerset.

Lana's Lodge is ideally situated on the Lizard at Mullion. It is spacious and ideally suited for holidays with children, also due to the small separate garden. It is very quiet and well equipped. The proprietors in their adjacent house are very helpful.

We booked last minute for Lanas Lodge and it took us 7 hours to drive down and what a wonderful surprise when we arrived, a table made up for a tea party with fresh scones, jam and clotted cream, we had everything we needed including coffee tea milk and sugar. The lodge itself was lovely with books and plenty of toys for the kids to play with and full sky tv package! The beds were so comfortable and the travel cot was made up for us upon arrival. The area is stunning and a twenty minute walk down to a sheltered cove it really is a spot not to miss! Highly recommended thank you for a lovely stay.

A lovely welcome awaited us at Lana's Lodge. Our hosts greeted us and were very friendly and helpful. A welcome cream tea was provided including specially made Doggie Scones which our dogs loved, the human ones were brilliant too. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable, large bright rooms with excellent beds, linen and relaxing sofas. The lodge is well situated and we had a great time walking along the coastal path. The village had an excellent dog friendly pub, a take away curry van and numerous little shops and stores. The only improvement we would recommend would be to sort out the damp smell in the larger of the two bedrooms - we didn't need to use it luckily, but the rest of the accommodation was brilliant and we would definitely recommend people to stay here.

Lana's Lodge provides a really comfortable base with very practical and well thought out facilities to give guests a hassle free holiday home from which to explore the Lizard. The owners are really friendly and kind, they are there if you need them but leaving you private too. Homemade cream tea and doggie scones are typical of their welcome to guests. Everything is spotlessly clean and cheerfully decorated to make your stay relaxed and comfortable. Great for dogs and kids too, secure garden area at back.A happy relaxed place.

Lana's Lodge truly exceeded our expectations, it provided every possible home comfort in the perfect spot for exploring the beautiful Lizard peninsula. The beds are lovely to sleep in, the sofas snug and comfy to settle into, great entertainment package, tv pictures perfect even after a power cut! The cottage is a credit to it's delightful owners Becky & Lawrence, residing next door they offer the warmest of welcomes to all their guests. Delicious freshly baked scones, jam, clotted cream, milk, tea, coffee, sugar etc was waiting for us on arrival. We had the most wonderful week at Lana's Lodge, and have no hesitation in recommending it to others. If you are looking for some cornish delight, Lana's Lodge certainly delivers.

Guest from Belper stayed at Lana's Lodge for 7 nights in August
Lana's Lodge gave us, without doubt, the best holiday rental experience we have had in this country. I try and avoid clichés but it truly was a home away from home and perfect for a family holiday. The welcome was wonderful, the facilities just right and the location brilliant for exploring this part of Cornwall. The owners live next door; this is something that would normally be a concern but in actual fact this worked out fantastically well. They were never intrusiove but always on hand to answer questions and give local advice and information - spot on! Don't be deceived by the photograph of the front of the house - it's Tardis-like inside and my family of five were comfortable and able to spread out around the cottage. Do I recommend a stay here? Unhesitatingly! We're already planning a return visit - something we have *never* done before.

Becky and Lawrence are very welcoming and the Lodge has it's own drive way and really feels like your own home-from-home during your stay. We spent a week with our two young Grandsons who were delighted to find a cupboard full of toys to play with along with dressing up costumes and a Pirate Ship playhouse in the garden (which is fenced all around so child and dog friendly!). The house was clean and tidy and equipped with pretty much anything you might need. Polurrian Bay is closer than we thought - only a 10 minute walk with 2 little ones - and is a wonderful little beach, fairly quiet, with life guards and a cafe and the Hotel up the path. All the shops and eateries in Mullion are an easy short walk away - as is the chocolate factory! Road access further afield is also very easy. Would recommend it!

Clean and well looked after, Lana's Lodge is a comfortable and well-equipped base for visiting the south and west of Cornwall. The beds were particularly comfortable and the range of toys provided would be very welcome for those with small children. The flowers and the cream tea on arrival were a lovely touch and ensured that our holiday got off to a good start. Situated in a very pretty part of the country, the coastal path is only a short distance away. There are good eating places within easy walking distance, while the nearby shop provides a good range of produce (larger supermarkets are only a few miles away).

We hired Lana's Lodge for 10 nights whilst working down in Cornwall. The Lodge itself is well presented, immaculately clean, and perfectly comfortable with all the facilities you need. Mullion is a lovely place to stay. Going for a walk along the coastal path is a must but take the right shoes as it was abit boggy in places. Mullion has a number of shops, pubs and takeaways all just a short walk up the road from the Lodge. Great stay even though I had to work and would certainly book again.

The cottage is in an ideal location in the village. It has all amenities required with a few added bonuses of outside chairs & sky tv. The only negative would be the spiders in all of the rooms. The village itself has cafe's & a pub that allows dogs in the bar. Really enjoyed our holiday & would recommend this cottage.
