This lovely apartment in a traditional old barn attached to a charming farmhouse set in beautifully kept grounds is tranquility itself yet is only 15 minutes from a choice of fabulous North Coast beaches, 15 minutes from the historic cathedral city of Truro and 20 minutes from the hubbub of the ancient port of Falmouth. Morwenna, with its central yet secluded location, really is the perfect base for a varied holiday.

The conversion of this barn, set in beautiful Cornish countryside, took place a few years ago and the Owner has created a well thought out unit with all the facilities you would expect, including strip wood floors and a fully fitted modern kitchen. The apartment has oil fired central heating to keep you warm at cooler times and benefits from a superb covered verandah where you can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the location, whatever the weather. Chacewater is situated in a valley not far from Cornwall's capital Truro. Its name probably originates from the Breton 'chace' for hunting as the area was originally hunting ground for early kings of Cornwall. The village now boasts three pubs and some bright, elegant building.

The city of Truro is only about a 10 minute drive to the east and has a wide selection of good shopping including a Tescos, Sainsburys, Marks & Spencer and many other high street outlets. There is also a cinema and a great selection of restaurants, pubs & cafes. The resort of Newquay is about 12 miles to the north with its spectacular surf beaches at Fistral & Watergate Bay. Jamie Oliver's "Fifteen" restaurant is located here. Padstow, with its fine selection of restaurants influenced by Rick Stein is just over 20 miles. Harbourside towns & villages such as Fowey, Falmouth & St Mawes are all within easy reach. For those flying to Cornwall, the airport is within easy reach.

The Cathedral City of Truro is in the heart of Cornwall and offers a wealth of facilities for the visitor. Dominated by the stunning cathedral, it is one of the south west's most attractive cities. Lemon Quay plays host to many events throughout the year including the Cornwall Food & Drink Festival in the Autumn and the famous Truro Fatstock Show just before Christmas. Regular farmers markets occur every Wednesdays & Saturday and there are also arts & craft markets on Saturdays.

There is a wonderful range of shopping for the visitor including all the regular high street stores including Marks & Spencer, Tescos & Sainsburys, but also a wide range of more specialist stores. It really is worth a wander through the back streets and alleys to find some fabulous little boutiques.

Truro has a superb range of restaurants from Bustopher Jones & Mannings on Lemon Street to the always popular Pizza Express. There are lively bars, pubs & nightclubs including the superb Old Ale House, a busy Wetherspoons and the infamous L2 if you are so inclined! The Hall for Cornwall hosts everything from Shakespeare to rock concerts and the cinema on Lemon Street has all the latest releases.

A super place to stay -quiet, well equipped and a great location from which to tour Cornwall. We would have liked to have had WiFi but that would be our only criticism.

Guest from Coleford stayed at Morwenna for 7 nights in July
Fabulous place to stay for 2 adults and a 10 year old. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped with a useful welcome pack, top quality super comfy bed, wonderful, large shower. Loved the raised. covered patio overlooking woods. Parking adjacent to accommodation, garden perfect for a holiday (and bar-b-q s) - very private. Great location, very rural, but only minutes from Truro and main routes, easy to head north or south for the day. I would definitely stay here again. Only downside, sofa bed small and not too comfy (as is the nature of sofa beds) and WIFI would be a useful addition. I would think it would be a little bit of a squeeze for 4 adults.

Had a very enjoyable week. Central for all parts of Cornwall. Spotlessly clean and very well appointed. We particularly enjoyed the private patio and garden area which we managed to use every day. Lovely quiet location.

Guest from Reading stayed at Morwenna for 3 nights in April
We loved morwenna. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is furnished to a very high standard and is by far the cleanest self catering property I have experienced. Two very minor points would be only 1 toilet roll for stay is not adequate. We were provided with brand new towels which were wonderful however they malted severely, they were green and was embarrassing at the amount that was left on you when leaving the place to go sightseeing. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this place. We would love to visit in the future.

To say that cleanlyness, comfort and available help were good is a gross understatement. The help given in the case of my wife's mobility problem was immediate and very kind. The whole place exudes quality of equipment, convenience and comfort. We have rarely come across such a nice place to stay over the many years of renting property both in the UK and in France and Germany..

The service was good. We really enjoyed our stay at Morwenna. It was very quiet and secluded and just perfect inside.
Mrs Cohen , Jul 2013
We had a very good holiday based at Morwenna, which came well up to our expectations. It was ideal for us as we wanted a reasonably quiet couple of weeks and we were very comfortable there. The owner looked after us very well and we were made to feel at home as soon as we arrived.
John Sartain , Sep 2012
What a lovely cottage it is and exceptionally clean. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet holiday away from it all but still within reasonable distance to north and south coasts. Well worth the money.
M & L Dickinson, Aug 2012
I really enjoyed my time at Morwenna and hope to visit again soon.
