This brilliant ground floor apartment, within the Port Pendennis Marina Village is an ideal place to stay when visiting Falmouth. Port Pendennis is a lovely development, part of which is built around a small marina and is located less than a 5 minute flat walk from a superb mix of attractions, pubs, restaurants and shops around the waterfront area. The highlight for many is Rick Stein's Fish & Chip shop which also has a first floor oyster bar! Not only very close to town, it is also only a ten minute walk to the sea front and approximately fifteen minutes' walk to the beach. If you are feeling a little more energetic, the stroll around Pendennis Point and Castle provides some of the finest views across the Carrick Roads to St Mawes and out across Falmouth Bay to the Helford estuary.

The apartment is well presented by the Owners and provides comfortable accommodation for up to 3 adults (children are welcome). The subtropical grounds of Port Pendennis are extensive and you can wander around to your heart's content. There is a communal tennis court for use within the grounds available free of charge but you will need your own rackets and balls. The apartment itself has a small private area of lawn by the kitchen window ideal for catching the evening sun with a glass of wine!

Accommodation
Ground Floor Only: The apartment has a good sized double bedroom with large fitted wardrobes and a 4'6" double bed, a good sized kitchen with ample dining space, comfortable lounge, immaculate bathroom with overhead powerful electric shower & WC and smaller second bedroom with a 3' single bed (not twin beds, as shown in the photographs).
Exterior: Extensive shared grounds including the use of a tennis court. A small private area of lawn immediately outside the apartment has a table and 2 chairs with a further 2 fold out chairs kept inside.

Facilities & Services
Heating is via central heating throughout. The kitchen has a range of modern equipment. There is an electric oven and induction hob, a microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, freezer and washing machine. The sitting room area has a large flatscreen digital Freeview TV & DVD player and iPod dock. There is a hairdryer. There is WiFi available at the property. There is an iron & ironing board.

Miscellaneous
Electricity, heating, bed linen & towels are included. Regrettably no smoking or dogs are allowed. Private parking for one beside the apartment and further parking for other guests within the marina (free of charge).

General Booking Information
Arrival / Departure is normally a Friday.
Short breaks are available during quieter periods.
£100 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.
Falmouth is one of Cornwall's most popular places to visit because of it's unique mix of attractions, water sports, beaches, history and place to eat. The National Maritime Museum Cornwall and Pendennis Castle are both high on visitors lists of places to visit and the views from Pendennis on a fine day a truly magical. Falmouth is the sailing capital of Cornwall with its spectacular deep water natural harbour offering a haven for both cruisers and racers. Many events are held through the summer culminating in the famous Falmouth Regatta Week and associated shore side events. You can enjoy these events on foot from this marina based apartment.

As a university town many events are arranged by the students including annual exhibitions of art and photographic work. This is a perfect apartment for parents wishing to visit their children as the bus to the University leaves regularly from the end of the road up to the Tremough campus.

The beaches at Gyllingvase & Swanpool are coarse sand and are wonderfully sunny south facing spots. You can ride the ferry to beautiful St Mawes for the day or take a delightful trip around the estuary stopping off at either Trelissick Gardens or Smugglers Cottage for a cream tea! There are plenty of places to eat & drink in Falmouth and recently Rick Stein has opened his Fish & Chip Restaurant & Oyster Bar at Discovery Quay adding to the superb mix across the town.

Trish from Oswestry stayed at Tall Ships for 7 nights in September
Tall Ships was the perfect location for us, pensioners with limited mobility we were able to walk into and about the town. The apartment was very well equip and it was great to have parking. Following long days out our evenings were spent indoors, we didn't find the lounge furniture particularly comfortable and think that a second small TV in the kitchen would have added to our enjoyment. We would recommend Tall Ships to anyone looking for self catering accommodation in Falmouth or looking for a central base for touring Cornwall.

Michael from Bognor Regis stayed at Tall Ships for 7 nights in September
A really nice property in an ideal and convenient location. The only negative was that it did smell terribly of damp and this was apparent in every room. The smell was mitigated somewhat by the end of the week after we had left the windows open. If I was the owner I would want to give this matter urgent attention. I would recommend the property and indeed rent it again myself subject to the damp issue being resolved

Philip from Keynsham stayed at Tall Ships for 7 nights in March
Tall Ships is a very well located apartment situated as it is close to the Town centre, dock yard and coastal features. It is notable how quiet it is especially in the evenings when due to the security gates there is no noise from passing traffic or pedestrians etc. The apartment itself is well appointed, warm and comfortable with a large lounge and kitchen/diner where It is possible to cook a meal in the well appointed kitchen but perhaps the addition of a dishwasher rather than a washing machine would improve the kitchen experience. Overall a pleasant stay in Cornwall that we would recommend.

Angela from Addlestone stayed at Tall Ships for 3 nights in March
We had a very comfortable stay at this property. The location was perfect, a short walk to town and a ten minute walk to the beaches. It was immaculate and very tastefully furnished. The bed was very comfortable. We were visiting my daughter who is at Falmouth university and it was a perfect place to have her round for a meal. When we arrived there was a tea tray with a selection of teas, coffee, milk and biscuits. Very nice touch. Thank you

Mark from Faversham stayed at Tall Ships for 7 nights in February
I needed somewhere to stay for a week whilst working in Cornwall and knowing Falmouth and the marina area well this apartment was a no brainer really. Great location and all the comforts and amenities of a 4* hotel serviced apartment. Can't fault the apartment itself which was lovely but it's building looks to be a house converted into 4 apartments and the walls/ceilings are paper thin. I could hear exactly what time the family above got up, went to sleep and ate their meals.

Great location, everything we needed, but ventilation of the property could be better, similarly, a second TV and an armchair or two might be an improvement.

Really nice appartment in beautiful setting. Location was terrific, providing car parking in centre of Falmouth. Appartment is also central for shops, buses, boats and beaches and all are in walking distance. Only drawbacks were noise from appartment above and not very comfortable settees.

This is a lovely apartment in a gated community so amongst other things you can park your car safely - quite an advantage in Falmouth! The apartment itself is very well appointed. Comfortable bed, nice kitchen with lots of kit so you can cook easily, nice lounge with a comfortable settee. It's a flat walk into town and it's not far. Excellent all round!

Probably our best stay in Falmouth with good weather and comfortable accommodation well located in the town. Despite the location being close to the docks we were impressed on how quiet the flat was. We will come again.

Steven from Sheerness stayed at Tall Ships for 12 nights in January
this is the second time we have stayed in tallships as before its spotless and fresh. we liked the fact the beds have been renewed and slept like a dream thank you. its quiet, in probably the best spot for falmouth amenities. the best food in England is located 2 minutes up the road at Merchants Manor who are the keyholders so theirs no excuse not to experience the best food you will taste any where, Michelin star quality at normal prices. we know as its our son who is award winning chef patron Dale Mcintosh. their is only one small niggle and thats the sofas are very low ive had both knees replaced so found it hard to get up from them, but then thats my fault not the apartments. leave the car behind and walk through the dockside gate and your in the square with all the bars and restaurantes, be warned Rick Stiens is very expensive and not very good, try the shed good bear and wines and cocktails, foods ok too, the ranch and the shack are also good for food all owned by the same family. further up the high street is a miriad of good food places and bars you are spoiled for choice, so dont waste your times in Stiens!!! thank you again to cornwall cottages who make the booking easy and to the owners who have a beautiful apartment and keep it so. a big thank you from sue and steve.

Lovely apartment, fantastic location! Very well equipped, only thing that spoilt an amazing holiday was the bed! Possibly the most uncomfortable thing I have ever slept on, and I camp on a regular basis, so that is saying somthing! Really needs sorting, other than that a fantastic place

Guest from Truro stayed at Tall Ships for 28 nights in July
Tall Ships is in a fantastic location and we had a great time there. The kitchen is very well equipped (although the hob is not an induction hob as stated, but a ceramic electric hob), the bathroom is modern, and the living room is comfy and simply furnished, which was great when travelling with an inquisitive crawling baby! The whole place was pretty easy to childproof, which is not the case with most holiday lets! The only downsides for us were noisy upstairs neighbours (although they left part way through our stay), and the mattress on the double bed was very uncomfortable, we ended up buying a mattress pad for the duration of our stay to make it more comfortable. Gill the owner was very helpful and sorted a problem with the microwave so quickly that I hesitate to even call it a problem. All in all a lovely holiday let in a second-to-none location.

A great place to stay and in an excellent location. We have been visiting Falmouth for many years and this was one of the most comfortable and convenient places we have used. It was a joy to leave the car behind and walk. The owner contacted us to check we were ok and settled in as there was a mix up with the keys (quickly resolved) and our stay was a relaxing and enjoyable one.

THIS WAS OUR THIRD VISIT TO PORT PENDENNIS, AND OUR STAY AT TALLSHIPS WAS EXCELLENT. A VERY TIDY WELL EQUIPPED APPARTMENT A SHORT WALK FROM THE BUSY CENTRE OF FALMOUTH. ALTHOUGH WE DINED OUT EACH NIGHT, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN EASY TO CATER FOR OURSELVES AT TALLSHIPS BECAUSE IT LACKED IN NOTHING FOR MAKING ANY TYPE OF MEAL. . THE SHOWER, TOWELS AND BEDDING ARE LOVELY. OUR STAY WAS VERY MUCH ENJOYABLE BECAUSE OF GREAT WEATHER WE HAD AND ALSO A GREAT CHOICE OF THINGS TO DO IN THE AREA INCLUDING WALKS AND BEAUTIFUL GARDENS NEARBY. TO FINISH OFF I WOULD SAY "TALLSHIPS" IS A CREDIT TO ITS LUCKY OWNERS.

The flat is best situated. Closed up at the marina (gated community),but near by the city-center. We were impressed by the good facilities. Especially, if you like cooking, you will miss nothing! The flat is sunny and bright, the livingroom most comfortable. A very nice community-garden invites with lush vegetation and a nice pavillion. The owner and the nice house keeper were very helpful with solving a WiFi-Problem (finally it worded :-)). Gladly we would come for another stay!
Reply from Gill HuntWe did sort the wifi problem quickly ( difficulties with Virgin our provider) but rest assured we have now changed provider. The wifi is back up to speed and quality. Thank you for not judging us by the provider and still rewarding us with a 5/5. We do try our best if problems do occur to solve them straight away.

It was cozy, comfortable, warm, the internet was fast and the kitchen was perfectly set up for us to cook for ourselves for the week. We had a great time, with no problems, complaints or concerns. We had a really good week, despite not having the best of weather. The information about both the appartment and the local area were helpful and helped us to make the most of our visit to the area. When the weather was bad we were happy to be in such a comfortable and well equiped place. Will be very happy to recommend to friends, and would not look for any other property when we come back to cornwall.
