Wild Acres is located about 75 yards from the main house and shares the same access road. The building itself was believed to be a former coastal lookout station, but has now been converted into a comfortable holiday home with fantastic views. The conservatory on the front of the building is a brilliant place to just sit, read a book and enjoy the views of the coast. It is really ideal for just a couple or a family with young children as the 2 bedroom is quite small and only has a bunk bed.

The huge advantage of staying at Wild Acres is the proximity to the beautiful, wild sandy beach a short walk below your accommodation. The golden sands on the east Kennack Sands beach directly below the property are dog friendly all year round and the magnificent stretch of the coastal path around the Lizard runs right past the end of the garden!!

Accommodation
The property is all on the ground floor, but there are a few steps up to the building.
Ground floor only: Lounge area, kitchen, conservatory all with views. Main double bedroom with door to the conservatory and link door through to a bunk bedded room.

Facilities & Services
Heating is via electric heaters. The kitchen is nicely fitted & has a fridge with freezer, microwave and Belfast sink, but there is no washing machine & no dishwasher. Heating is via electric heaters. TV with Freesat & DVD player in the lounge. There is an iron & ironing board. The property does benefit from WiFi, so please feel free to take your laptop!

Miscellaneous
Electricity, bed linen & towels are all included, but you will need to bring your own beach towels. There is parking available at Wild Acres, but please do bear in mind that access is via an unsurfaced gravel & stone road that needs to be taken carefully. Up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome at a small cost of £25 per week. Additional dogs may be considered on an individual basis. Please note that dogs must be kept on the lead whilst walking through the garden to the coastal path and beach. We regret no smoking is permitted. There is a cot & high chair available. A child's buggy is also available on site.

General Booking Information
Arrival / Departure is a Friday.
Short breaks are available during quieter periods.
£100 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.
There is a superb pub at Cadgwith Cove, plus more pubs in nearby Coverack and at the Lizard. There is a supermarket in Helston. Coverack has a traditional working harbour, a general store, Internet Cafe, friendly pub and several eating establishments.

The Lizard is an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'and has some spectacular coastal walks. It is England's most southerly point and the highlights include early Spring flowers, the Lizard lighthouse, swimming and surfing from sandy beaches, delightful fishing coves, sailing on the Helford river, heather covered moors in Autumn, open gardens and National Trust areas, pretty harbour lights at Christmas, friendly pubs and good, fresh, local food!

There is a greater range of shops in Helston (famous for its Floral Dance) which is a short drive away or alternatively, the larger towns of Falmouth or Truro have a wide range of shops. The famous Flambards park is located close to Helston.

Romana from Vienna stayed at Wild Acres for 14 nights in June
Wonderful location with stunning view. The rough road with in meantime big holes down to the cottage is really bad. The other downside is the condensation and a leaky roof over the dining room in rainy weahter and we had one week rainy weather. The second week, as the sun was finally shinning, we would have liked to use the sun-chairs outside, but the chairs were so filthy, so that we could not use them. The last thing what really disturbed us were the in meantime four dogs from the owners, which were running all over the place and kept coming into our small garden and even in the cottage, when we left the door open. It mad it quite difficult with our own dogs.
Reply from LisaI am so sorry that you didn't enjoy this visit as much as your last one with us. Firstly of course, had we known anything was wrong during your stay then we would have addressed it immediately. Things like garden chairs do unfortunately get dirty being outside but we could have very quickly and easily solved this for you. The weather was very unkind in the first week and condensation is an unfortunate by-product of it being wet and humid. We do provide a window hoover and dehumidifier for this issue with information in the holiday let but had we known this was a problem for you we would have made sure you were aware of them being available to use. We try to make it clear to our guests that our 3 dogs are very used to people making them feel welcome when they stay but to please uninvite them should they bother you. They are very used to commands and are incredibly well behaved if a little over friendly! The driveway is unsurfaced as described so unfortunately it is bumpy but again we do try to make it clear to our visitors beforehand and it would have been in a similar state when you visited previously. I'm sorry that this effected your holiday with us this time and we're disappointed that we weren't given the opportunity to rectify any problems you may have had. We will make sure that the elements of your feedback are addressed to make it clearer for our future guests and to encourage others to approach us should anything be amiss.

Catherine from Derby stayed at Wild Acres for 6 nights in March
Beautiful location, wonderful view and friendly people but it was unclear to me that the cottage stands in the grounds of the owners's house (about 50 yards away) and that their 3 dogs would be roaming round freely. Although they were readily controlled by the owner, sitting outside might be restricted for non-dog lovers.

We had a lovely stay at Wild acres. The position of the accomodation is superb. Quiet lanes for walking dogs, easy access to the beach which is dog friendly all year, unparalleled views. Stargazing at night wonderful as no light pollution. Only downside is the condensation and a leaky roof over the dining room in rainy weather. The furnishings are fine for a stay with dogs. The owners are friendly and helpful, their children are delightful. This was our third time in the cottage and lived up to all expectations. Many thanks Lisa.

Arthur from Soton stayed at Wild Acres for 7 nights in September
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this idyllic setting. The studio gives wonderful views of the coast and has the bonus of having a path down to join the coastal path to the beach. Indeed it was possible to spend the whole time there without using the car! Everything was provided for our comfort, even down to fresh flowers and milk in the fridge. It must be admitted that the rough road to the cottage was a bit of a drawback, but worth it to reach such a beautiful spot.

Close proximity to the beach and the coast paths makes for ultimate ease in going for a walk! The view from the cottage is superb (ignoring the caravan park) and the conservatory can be heated easily during the cooler months to make it cosy whilst enjoying the scenery.

Firstly the location and accommodation really did match the photos online which isn't always the case. The position of wild acres is amazing and perfect for dog owners or those with young children. The views are stunning no matter what the weather and it's well located for exploring the Lizard, the coastal path or west Cornwall. The accommodation was nicely laid out and comfortable and some really nice touches like useful local info, well equipped kitchen and even dog tags! The owners, Lisa and Rob, were really helpful and friendly but never intrusive. They are not exaggerating about the track to the property though. It just added to the fun for us but be prepared for a bumpy ride!

Would highly recommend and would go back again. Lovely setting and views over the sea. Owners were very friendly and helpful. We arrived late on a very wet and foggy evening and Lisa rang to check we were ok and they very kindly had a fresh bottle of milk and had put on the heating and lights ready for out arrival. We had a very relaxing stay and enjoyed the beautiful Cornish scenery. Chris, Cheryl and Caitlin Edwards

What more could you want? We arrived to a beautifully clean and welcoming studio with milk in the fridge for that all important cup of tea. The sea was roaring away in the background, but that was the only sound and immediately it was soothing. We were greeted by our hosts, checking that everything was ok and we settled right in. It didn't take long to relax into the surroundings, to enjoy the views, the beach 5 minutes below or the walks around and across to the Devil's Frying Pan. On the second night we had a barbeque outside which tasted all the better for the sea air. It was overall a fantastic weekend. Very relaxing. Great location. Lovely hosts. Highly recommend and would definitely return.

Guest from Cambridge stayed at Wild Acres for 7 nights in September
We spent a week here in September as part of our honeymoon, with our 2 year old daughter, and had a wonderful time. The location is very special and the views from the house and from the newly added sun terrace are the best we have had. We enjoyed walking the coast paths and the local beaches without having to get into the car. And while the access road to the house is on the rugged side, it didn't prevent us from exploring further afield. We particularly enjoyed Kynance cove - a beautiful family-friendly cove with golden sands and blue seas. The hosts Lisa and Rob are just around the corner and were very friendly, and yet it still felt private and secluded. We hope to go back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at ?Wild Acres?. The comfortable holiday home is nestled in the most picturesque setting and it an amazing view of the bay. Access to the coastal path and beach is just a few steps away through beautiful countryside, which offers a home to an abundance of wildlife particularly butterflies. Our hosts, Rob, Lisa and their family were extremely welcoming and helped to make our stay even more pleasant by bringing us freshly caught pollack and windfall apples to enjoy. In the evening it was lovely to see the sunset, watch the moon rise and hear the lapping of the waves. For even more relaxation, we would definitely recommend the online grocery delivery service ? our shopping was delivered straight to the door. It was such a perfect spot that we decided to make the most of such a beautiful location and kept our sightseeing of Cornwall to a bare minimum! Highly recommended for families ? both ourselves and our two teenage girls loved it!

What can we say - Wild Acres has to be one of the most amazing places we have ever been to! The property boasts breath-taking views, is very well laid-out and beautifully presented, with very friendly and helpful owners who were always around for a chat or if we needed help, yet at the same time kept in the background and were very discreet. The Studio is very tastefully decorated, feels light and airy and provides everything you might wish for. The bed and the sofa in the living-room are very comfy, the shower works incredibly well (and powerful!). The sun room and the patio really wowed us - we did not even want to leave for excursions or walks because we loved it so much! The views down to Kennack Sands are simply stunning. We spent hot and sunny afternoons just relaxing on the deck chairs with a Gin Tonic in our hands, listening to the sound of the waves beneath us, enjoying the views of the glorious beach, trying to spot basket sharks and cuddling Fred, one of the owners' friendly dogs, who - to our delight - occasionally visited. We have to admit that we first felt nervous about driving down the unmade road, since we, as visitors from the Continent, are neither used to driving on the left nor down the very narrow lanes of Cornwall, and had to come to terms with a medium-sized hire car which we felt was not really suitable for off-road use. However, there was no reason to worry - yes, you have to drive slowly, but Rob, the owner, has taken every care to mend the track. It feels like a bit of an adventure at first, but you get used to it, and it doesn't really take that long - and it's definitely worth the drive, because at the end of the lane you land on this unspoilt little piece of paradise with no neighbours, street lights or traffic noises to bother you. We loved the fact that you can easily walk to the beach for a quick swim or follow the South West Coast Path for beautiful coastal walks to either Coverack or Cadgwith right from the doorstep. The Jones family go out of their way to make your holiday special, and always try to come up with ideas of how to make this dream destination even more perfect than it already is. We immediately felt at home and returned to Germany incredibly relaxed. Thank you so much for a week of pure holiday bliss!

We had an excellent holiday. The location and accommodation were fantastic. The only possible downside is the approach to the cottage which is down a very long, bumpy track however, it was definitely worth it for the location. There are fantastic sea views and great access to the beach which is dog friendly. The cottage was very light and well equipped. This was one of the best holidays which we have had in Cornwall for both the cottage and the weather. The owners were very helpful and approachable.

Guest from Bourton-on-the-water stayed at Wild Acres for 7 nights in October
We thoroughly enjoyed our second visit to Wilde Acres, it was as wonderfully inspiring and soul-repairing as the first and we will return again. The place as a whole is very clean, bedding, towels, cupboards, bathrooms all spotless. The only downside was a dampish (?) aroma in the bedrooms. We used a scented candle which helped. On the comfort front, beds were really comfy though pillows were not up to much, we did bring one each of our own just in case and were glad we did. The conservatory furniture was lovely, far more comfortable than the sofas in the sitting room which we found hard and not at all easy to relax on. Hence we took the two chairs from the conservatory into the sitting room! A couple of big comfy squashy sofas, or a corner group sofa with plenty of softness and comfort would be really nice, especially after a full day of activities when all you want to do is relax and unwind. Excellent heating, we were there during the storms that blew through and had no worries about keeping warm. Our host were very nice, friendly but not over-bearing, knowing they were there was a reassurance with the storms about especially :) It has a more personal touch now, loved and cared for, which makes it even more special to go to. The internet went down and they were straight on it and had it sorted really quickly which was brilliant as my partner needed to be in constant touch with his office. Having a land line was brilliant as our mobile provider was hopeless, but this could be a blessing on holiday ;) Wish we had known beforehand that the local large supermarkets would deliver, would have arranged that before leaving home but really good to know for next time. On the whole, excellent :)

We selected Wild Acres because of its location and we were definetly not disappointed. The house was lovely, Rob and Lisa and family were great and the dogs were great entertainment! There was absolutely nothing to dislike about Wild Acres. It was comfortable, warm and well kitted out. What more could anyone want than to just sit and look at the ever changing tide. I really enjoyed the rough sea to swim in right at the bottom of our own private path! The long track down to the house was certainly interesting and all visitors would do to have a 4x4 or a decent bigger car!!! Not for those who are prone to motion sickness!! The walking around The Lizard is amazing and certainly good for keeping you fit. Its great to able to use all the National Facilities around there as we are members! We would certainly return if there was room! Its a very popular place!!

We have found "Shangri-La". "Wild acres" is a location to die for. We shall return more than once. Lisa & Family are the perfect hosts and the setting is wonderful. May be a little cramped for 4 adults, but for 2 adults + 2 children, or as in our case 2adults+ dog-absolutely perfect. After discovering this, would not entertain anywhere else on the "Lizard"
